ABOUT
Hey there! I am a multifaceted filmmaker based in Los Angeles, with over two decades of experience in film, television, animation, and visual storytelling.

I was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Nelson County, Virginia. A vibrant artistic community where creativity was the air we breathed. I have a natural visual arts talent encouraged by my mother, renowned sculptor and jewelry designer K. Robins. I became “the art kid” at my small rural school but life in the mountains was never just about drawing. I was hiking the Appalachian Trail as a kid, playing chess by candlelight, lettering in varsity soccer as a sophomore, and chasing thrills on skis, and even underwater as a scuba diver. Art was my compass, but adventure was my fuel.

I graduated from Nelson County High School, as an honors student and participated in the Summer Residential Governor's School for the Arts at the University of Richmond. I went on to study illustration at VCU before earning a double major in Film and Animation from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2000.

I then headed west to Los Angeles, cutting my teeth editing wild low-budget action and martial arts films at Cine Excel Entertainment and even got to write and direct my own feature. Then came the boom of reality TV, and I jumped headfirst into the world of competition and game shows, climbing the ladder from assistant editor and online editor at KCET-TV to graphics editor, show builder and finisher with heavy hitters like Mark Burnett Productions, All3Media and Embassy Row. I went from competing on Family Feud to cutting game shows for game show giants Game Show Network, MGM, FOX and Walt Disney.
My creative appetite has never been limited to one lane, many projects have taken me far beyond the edit bay. I’ve traveled the world from working on Vietnamese variety shows, shooting music videos in Mexico, to shooting documentaries for the United Nations with Tremolo Productions on five continents. I’ve helped document Coachella, won "Best Editing" on an award-winning short film, illustrated children’s books, and designed graphics for primetime television.

Traveling the world has only expanded my creative toolkit, giving me fresh perspectives and new styles to play with and thanks to my background in animation and design, I’ve been an editor, director, animator, and graphic artist across a wide range of genres and formats. My amazing partner is LaNisa Renee Frederick, an actor, writer, and director. We have been blessed to work together on projects ranging from pitch decks and sizzle reels to podcasts and network television. Collaboration has been at the heart of my journey, and working together has only expanded the kinds of stories we can tell.

Whether I’m in the edit bay, behind the camera, or sketching ideas for a children’s book, I bring the same mix of curiosity and adventure that’s been with me since those Blue Ridge mountain days. I love the craft of storytelling and I bring creative energy, versatility, and experience to every project.

Always ready for the next challenge, let’s make something together!
